The actual science underlying weight loss is simple. We need to burn more calories than we consume. If we do that consistently, we will lose weight. It really is that simple. That hard part is actually doing it. A calorie is a measure of energy. It can be measured for all foods and each type of activity. If we monitor our calorie intake and how much we burn, and maintain a deficit in calorie intake we are guaranteed to lose weight. Sounds good. Now how do we do that? I will show you.

Before we go any further, it is important to note that there are two tyes of man boobs. First you need to determine the cause. The first type of man boob is known as gynecomastia. This is a condition that causes a hard fat deposit to form under the nipples. This is tender to touch. Gynecomastia most commonly occurs in youth, but has been associated with older men. The main cause is a hormone imbalance (oestrogen imbalance), mainly around puberty, as boys are growing up. Medical science has also established there are other causes for a hormone imbalance such as the taking of medication. If you believe you have gynecomastia, it is recommended you see a doctor to discuss the issue.
The second form of man boob is pseudogynecomastia. Pseudogynecomastia is most common in older men, and can be cured with the right diet and the right exercise program. As mentioned above, fat can only be burned generally from around the body. The goal is to tone muscles so that as the fat melts away, you have stunning toned muscles left! Therefore, by exercising your pectoral (or chest) muscles you may initially see your man boobs increase slightly due to the muscle growth in this area, but as the fat melts away from your body generally you will look and feel great - all over. A secondary benefit of building muscles is that more muscle mass will increase your metabolism which will also help to burn you fat. You will burn more fat while resting than you did before.
The most popular types of exercises that target the chest muscles are the bench press and cable fly. If you are training at home, the cable fly can be used with dumbbells.
Bench Press - 8 reps x 3 sets
Cable fly - 8 reps x 3 sets
Push ups - 12 reps x 3 sets
Try this exercise program to target your man boobs, every second day. A rep is a repartition. For example for the bench press, one rep is lowering the bar once and returning to the starting position. A set is a group of repartitions. Use enough weight on the bar so you cant get the bar back up fror the ninth rep. Use a spotter to be safe, if you can, or stop before total exhaustion of the muscles. Rest for 60 seconds between sets
Complete this exercsie program for a few months and the pectorial muscle will harden as it adapts to cope with the new stresses being placed on it. The next part of the exercise program is to target the fat.
The best form of exercise program to burn fat and man boobs is interval training. It has been proven in a scientific research study recently conducted at the University of NSW, that interval training is far superior to the old cardio training exercise program.
Interval training involves a short burst of intense effort to increase the heart rate, followed by a recovery period. The study was on 20 overweight women using exercise bikes. It was discovered after a couple of months that the women following the interval training exercise program burned 6 times more fat that the women doing the old fashioned cardio low intensity training. The women using interval training only trained for 20 minutes per session compared to the control group that training for 40 minutes.
So, get out the exercise bike, or the old treadmill, and start an interval exercise program for 20 minutes every second day. If you are just starting an exercise program ,consult your doctor, and always start off slow. If 20 minutes is to much, start with 5 or 10 minutes and build up. There is no point overdoing the exercise and giving up!
